Starting at Noble Falls we meander along the lush green banks of the Wooroloo Brook under overhanging trees. The wildflowers bloom in Spring making this a magical place. With the winter rains making the water bubble and tumble over the falls, this is a spectacular sight and a photographer’s dream. From August to October we lookout for the yellow wattles, orchids, Hakeas, Grevillias, beautiful blue Leschenaultia’s, trigger plants and an abundance of birdlife.
Leaving Noble Falls we will head to FR Berry Reserve. Following the Wooroloo Brook along gravel tracks, past Melaleuca (paperbark) fringed creeklines, by-passing a giant jumble of granite outcrops, we make our way to the cascades and waterfall where we will stop for morning tea by the babbling sounds of the brook. The area provides a valuable habitat for a wonderful variety of our Western Australian fauna including the Honey Possum, Mardo, Gould's Monitor, Bobtail, Western Green Tree Frog, Weebill, Splendid Fairy Wren, the migratory Rainbow Bee Eater and the endangered Carnaby's Cockatoo.
The reserve is also home to several species of rare and priority flora, some of which are unique to this place and do not occur anywhere else in Western Australia or in the world. The trail loops back through Wandoo, Jarrah and Marri woodlands to return us to our vehicles where we say goodbye for today!
