Join us on this beautiful evening walking tour that gives us special access to the Spring Mountain Conservation Estate.
Located just 35 minutes from Brisbane CBD, White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate features the distinctive, sculptured, rocky outcrops of White Rock and Spring Mountain. Covering over 2,500 hectares of regionally significant bush land, the estate also features extensive forested ridges, escarpments and valleys that are home to an array of plant and wildlife species. The estate remains sacred to the Traditional Owners of Ipswich, and the sacred sites of the region provide an important link between Country and personal identity and allow the passing on of cultural knowledge.
After we leave out meeting point, we will head up the main ridge learning about the history of White Rock - Spring Mountain as we go. Once at the main ridge lookout we will stop for a well deserved break and time to enjoy delicious nibbles, sweets, cheese, crackers, and beverages as the sun goes down and the lights of Brisbane City start to shine.
The view takes in the wondrous landscape stretching from Springfield to Mount Coot-tha and to the Northwest the runways of the Amberley air base can be seen.
Switch the torches on for the hike back and enjoy a night hike spotting the local wildlife on the ground and among the trees as the forest comes to life.
