We have a triple treat for you today visiting three totally unique and different landscapes. We start the morning visiting a private, unique bush property on the Darling Escarpment, an absolute hidden gem with the most stunning views back to Perth’s city skyline. This gorgeous landscape has never been cleared and remains in its virgin state as seen by botanists back in the 1820’s. Gifted to the City of Swan in 1988, up to 333 species of fauna and over 300 species of flora can potentially be found here.
Leaving here, we travel to the gorgeous Noble Falls where we meander along the lush green banks of the Wooroloo Brook under overhanging trees. The wild flowers will bloom in Spring making this a magical place. With the winter rains making the water bubble and tumble over the falls, this is a spectacular sight and a photographer’s dream. From August to October we lookout for the yellow wattles, orchids, Hakeas, Grevillia's, beautiful blue Leschenaultia’s, trigger plants and an abundance of birdlife.
Lunch will be enjoyed here beside the waterfall before making our way back towards Perth, stopping off for our final little 3km meander. Following the Wooroloo Brook along gravel tracks, past Melaleuca (paperbark) fringed creek lines, by-passing a giant jumble of granite outcrops we make our way to the cascades and waterfall. The area provides a valuable habitat for a wonderful variety of our Western Australian fauna including the Honey Possum, Mardo, Gould's Monitor, Bobtail, Western Green Tree Frog, Weebill, Splendid Fairy Wren, the migratory Rainbow Bee Eater and the endangered Carnaby's Cockatoo. The reserve is also home to several species of rare and priority flora, some of which are unique to this place and do not occur anywhere else in Western Australia or in the world. The trail loops back through Wandoo, Jarrah and Marri woodlands to return us to our vehicles for a 25 minute drive back to Midland..........Your triple trail is complete!
