Kickstart the New Year with a sunset walk at the pier.
We will meet up at the Shorncliffe Pier. Built by the Sandgate Pier Company in 1882 to be a tourist attraction for people to stroll, fish and indulge in sea bathing.From here we will take a leisurely stroll along Lover's Walk. A scenic walk that cuddles the Shorncliffe foreshore between Shorncliffe and Sandgate and part of the larger Bramble Bay foreshore.
We will continue down the Bramble Bay foreshore towards Decker Park and the Sandgate Bridge before making our way back to Shorncliffe Pier for some tasty nibbles from the AW pantry.The Bramble Bay foreshore consists of several kilometres of publicly accessible parklands and walking paths and features the Shorncliffe Pier, Sandgate Pool, Cabbage Tree Head, Baxter's Jetty, the groyne sea wall and Lover's Walk.
There will be ample opportunity for you to get in touch with your inner photographer so be sure to bring your camera/ mobile phone to get some stunning sunset shots.
