This walk loops around Pennant Hills Park mainly on service trails. Winding its way through the eucalypt forest of Lane Cove National Park, following the Lane Cove river with several creek crossings. It’s a picturesque route, exploring the surrounding bush visiting whale rock, city views from City View Rock.
We cross Big Ducky Waterhole, a popular birdwatching area. There are lots of scenic spots along the way where you can enjoy a picnic lunch, including by Devlins Creek. We will follow the trail & join The Step Track. This track is pretty with ferns & grass trees with the crossing a small waterfall.
Walk starts in Pennant Hills Park - Your AW Guide Kathy will meet you there. Park in the carpark opposite the soccer fields
Walk is Graded 4 (hard) Elevation gain 225 metres
Walk Length is 9.5 kms
We allow 4 - 5 hours including breaks.
There are 3 creek crossings that may require us to remove shoes, so bring a small hand towel
