Mt Edwards is the conical-shaped peak rising beside the Cunningham Highway close to Aratula and lies within the Moogerah Peaks National Park.
We will set off at 8am initially crossing the dam wall before we begin our ascent to the top of Mt Edwards at 634m. The climb starts out quite gradual and affords good views of Little Mt Edwards and the Reynolds creek gorge before things start to get tougher with a steep climb and some loose rocks before tapering off over the last 600m to reach the summit.
Once at the top you get good views across the Fassifern valley from various spots before heading back down to enjoy a picnic lunch at the dam (optional)
