Join us for a fully supported 60km multi day walk on the Bibbulmun Track between Balingup & Donnelly River.
No heavy backpacks, comfy accommodation and having an evening meal prepared for you at the end of the day. All you have to do is relax, walk & enjoy - sounds pretty good, doesn't it?
This section of the Bibbulmun Track transitions from Jarrah to Karri-Marri Forest, offering stunning views over the Blackwood Valley. With a variety of terrain, points of historical interest, autumn colours at the Golden Tree Park, dense forest, tall trees, green rolling hills, farmland, old railway formations and more, this section is sure to delight you.
After we've stretched our legs for the first couple of kilometres, we arrive at the heritage listed Golden Valley Tree Park where trees from Australia and all over the world were planted over one hundred years ago, forming the largest arboretum in WA. Here we will break for a picnic lunch prior to setting off for the rest of the day's walk. Though our Bibbulmun Track walk today is short, it's stunning and there's opportunity to spend a little more time at this Park wandering through and learning more about the different species planted here.
After today's walk we pick you up and head to our accommodation in Bridgetown.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Once we've caught our breath, it's time to continue on through the forest until we reach Mt Jones Dam and later Spring Gully Road, followed by a welcome stop at the Blackwood Campsite. The stunning views across the Blackwood Valley during today's walk is certainly a highlight along this section of the track, but remember with views, come hills and there's certainly a few ups and downs to tackle throughout the day.
After a break, we're on our way again for the final leg of the day. It's not long before we reach what's known as "Cardiac Hill" by many a frequent Bibb Track hiker. If you're walking from South to North with a full pack on your back and hit this hill at the end of your day, you'll be tested!!! Luckily for us, we're walking the reverse, so it's down the hill we go to our pick up point at Southampton Bridge on the Blackwood River.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
A real highlight today is the Gregory Brook Campsite set deep in a forest of tall trees and walking from there to the Karri Gully Spur trail where the tall Karri forest surroundings are just stunning.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Today's walk, although longer than the other days, is very gently on the legs and relatively easy. Noticing the transition from Jarrah to dense Karri-Marri forest is a highlight, as are the small gullies that feed the Donnelly River, lush undergrowth and finally walking into the quaint Donnelly River Village, along with the resident Emu's and Kangaroo's.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
