Southwest/Bunbury Girls, it's time for another social walk while making a difference!
The Maidens Walk comprises a series of limestone-based walk trails that meander through the Maidens Reserve. The Maidens is characterised by a series of high sand dunes offering extensive views of the city from several look-outs. The area is of high conservation value as it supports a diverse range of species including numerous native orchids.
The Maidens is also home to a healthy population of Tuart trees which have suffered declining numbers in recent years on other parts of the Swan Coastal Plain. We’ll walk through the Maidens Reserve towards Dalyellup for approximately 4 kms then cut back to the beach for a stroll and a rubbish pick-up as we go. Rubbish bags and gloves will be supplied and a photo at the end of the event will be posted to bring awareness to our FB friends of how easy it can be to help make a difference.
The Walk: 10km approx - Crushed limestone and beach walk, Dog friendly – to be kept on leads in the Reserve but can have freedom on the beach.
Meeting Place: Look for your AW Host Sue D at the Maidens Reserve Car Park off Ocean Drive, Bunbury, she'll be wearing a bright orange AW Peak Cap.
Meeting Time: 9.00am
