Join your AW host Chris on this picturesque walk through Anstead Bushland Reserve. The Reserve is over 130 hectares in size and is the largest Brisbane City Council owned bushland reserve on the Brisbane River.
Following along the well defined tracks, we’ll have views of the river, the D’Aguilar range and the historical Sugars quarry site from a lookout nearby. Travel back through time to the late 1800s when Thomas Sugars first started mining basalt. Tragically, he lost his son Frederick in a rock fall here.
The bushland area is also a great location to spot birds.
After our walk we’ll return to the picnic ground to share an AW treat and cuppa together..
This social walk is a great opportunity to join a group of welcoming and friendly ladies if you're new to the group.
Toilets are at the reserve picnic area.
