Join Caron & Kat on this stunning nature walk through the region’s best mangroves and coastal bushland – not the hardest Gold Coast hike you’ll ever go on, but certainly very scenic with a swim option at the end of the adventure.
Our adventure begins early to beat the heat & traffic at Tallebudgera Creek Park. From here we will cross the bridge and head for Burleigh Headland and take the paved Oceanview track, which weaves through Burleigh Heads National Park offering views down to the surf below.
We will take the Rainforest Track back, climbing a little to enjoy the views from Jebbribillum Lookout and weave our way further up to Tumgum lookout and reflect on how it must’ve been for the Kombumerri people who lived here for thousands of years. Large stingrays have been spotted below the lookout in the shallows, fingers crossed they will be on show for us.
From here, the path goes under the traffic bridge and weaves through the local streets where 70's Gold Coast Architecture is on display in its finest glory. We make our way uphill before a narrow bitumen track takes us through bushland on the banks of the creek and onto boardwalks that meander through the Gold Coast's largest tract of mangroves.
Continuing around to the other side of the creek, we explore mangroves and snatch glimpses of magnificent homes along the foreshore. As we make it back to our start location we will be tempted to finally stop for a quick dip in the clear waters of Tallebudgera Creek.
Morning tea will be served in the park overlooking the water as it flows by, while we watch families enjoying this magical Gold Coast location.
