Join our hosts on the Somerset Trail walk in D'Aguilar National Park, Mount Mee. Considered by many to be one of the best bushwalks near Brisbane city it is a relatively easy and beautiful 13km return walk through a mixture of open country and pine forest, as well as pockets of rainforest and scribbly-gum.
At around the halfway point, there are a series of lookouts over Somerset Dam to the north and Lake Wivenhoe to the south, with a backdrop of the far mountain ranges.
This area was heavily logged in the past (hence the saw mill at The Gantry) but has regrown into a beautiful diverse bushland.
Please note: The day use area at The Gantry has toilets, picnic and BBQ facilities as well as a number of large resident goannas!
● Beautiful mixed forest walk
● The call of the bower birds
