MAKE A BOOKING

Join Caron and Kat, our local AW hosts, on the Somerset Trail walk in D'Aguilar National Park, Mount Mee.

The local aboriginal name for the area is "Dahmongah" meaning 'flying squirrel/glider'.

Mt Mee is considered by many to be one of the best bushwalks near Brisbane city. It is a relatively easy and beautiful 13km circuit through a mixture of open country and pine forest, as well as pockets of rainforest and scribbly-gum.

Half way along we are blessed with magnificent views of the valley below. With Somerset Dam to the north and Lake Wivenhoe to the south, the mountain backdrop makes this adventure worth the effort.

The area was heavily logged in the past (hence the saw mill at The Gantry) and red cedar was the most prized timber along with hoop pine, crows ash and flooded gum. Surprisingly the last mill in the area only closed in 1982.

Come and experience nature, views, history and a gorgeous walk with like minded women.

Please note: The day use area at The Gantry has toilets, picnic and BBQ facilities as well as a number of large resident goannas!
