MAKE A BOOKING

Ships Stern Circuit – the breath taking views, cascading waterfalls, plunging valleys, unique wildlife and the World Heritage Gondwana Rainforest are just some of the things you will encounter on this 21km hike high up on the plateau of the Lamington National Park.

Today’s whole day epic adventure with AW hosts Caron & Kat will challenge you physically, however the rewards make the journey worth the effort.

We will walk under a canopy of forest that transports you to a time so long ago. Our eyes and ears will be meet with wonders of the natural world, piccabeen palms, huge old red cedars and majestic flooded gums are some of the native vegetation along the way.

Stopping at Koolanbilba, Yangahla and Kooloonbano lookouts to take in the views and the escarpment - Kooloonbano Lookout has spectacular views down over the Numinbah Valley, Turtle Rock and Egg Rock sit in the valley below with the Hinze Dam set off into the distance. On a clear day you can see the high rises of Surfers Paradise with the sparkling ocean.

There are some beautiful places to stop along the way, Lower Ballanjui Falls on Nixon Creek is the perfect location for morning tea (provided). We will sit at the bottom of these falls and take in their beauty, power and serenity. Our lunch stop will host spectacular views ... please make sure you pack enough for a full day on the trails.

We will start early to ensure we are off the trail by nightfall, however your day pack should have your head torch just in case. As with all mountains, they create their own weather so a light rain jacket or poncho is advised also.
