Join Caron And Kat for a beautiful morning stroll to Serenity Falls in the Buderim Forest Park.
We will begin our morning of adventure heading straight to the memorial garden for Edna Walling. Famous for creating beautiful gardens around the world, Edna eventually retired in Buderim, not too far from the garden that honours her life's work.
After exploring the garden, we head along a steep little track that takes us straight to the Buderim Falls, unofficially known as Serenity Falls. The track then leads us across the high arch bridge spanning the creek that feeds the falls - a great place to stop, breathe and immerse yourself in the beauty.
Travelling further north, we meander through serene bushland alongside a creek passing babbling cascades. Eventually we meet a raised wooden boardwalk that crosses over Martins Creek as we wander to the top of the park. It is here that the iconic restaurant, Harry’s on Buderim is situated. The 142-year-old Heritage style homestead with a wide veranda offers an authentic outdoor dining experience whilst overlooking the rainforest. Unfortunately, they are not open for coffee, only lunch from 12noon on so we must keep moving.
Our journey takes us back along the way we came, taking it slowly to enjoy the bird calls, the sounds of water and the rainforest, right in the middle of suburbia but our efforts will be rewarded with a cuppa, morning tea and conversation back at the picnic grounds near our start point.
