Join Kat and Caron and take a beautiful stroll around the Roma Street Parklands, Brisbane's inner-city oasis of horticultural delight and it is easily accessible by public transport with Roma Street Station just a few metres away.
From The Hub, your hosts will guide you initially through the winding pathways of the Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place. This garden is considered to be the hero garden of these Parklands - a horticultural masterpiece that is seasonally planted with an ever-changing display of colourful blooms. It is a stylised interpretation of the original water source for Brisbane - The Spring.
We will then lead you through the many other areas, such as Memorial Corner and The Children’s Garden, then along the aptly named Weeping Fig Avenue to Fern Gully - a lush subtropical rainforest of ferns, figs and native plants. Keep a look out for the many artworks and sculptures as we meander our way from area to area and watch out for the water dragons trying to bask peacefully in the sun.
After exploring the gardens, the lake and the waterfalls, you will have the option to stay longer at the Garden Café for a well deserved cuppa at your own expense.
