We're off on on another AWesome Road Trip, ooh yeah... It's time to escape the city Crowds & Chaos as we head to Collie & Chill!!
We leave the city behind at 7.00am and this is where the adventure begins ... get to know your fellow travellers during a cruisy 2 hour drive south bound towards Collie.
On our arrival in Collie, we head straight for Wagon 537, a historic railway wagon located under the trees on the lawn at Central Park. Here we'll enjoy a scrumptious morning tea (own expense) before you have an hour to spend at your own leisure to explore some of the hidden gems in the town of Collie.
One of the hidden gems is the Collie Art Gallery - well worth a visit, and then if you're into interesting shops, perhaps a stroll to the Cheeky Squirrel or Retro Respection might be part of your plan. Another alternative is to spend your time walking, there are plenty of urban trails, or you could walk the 3km out to Minninup Pool which is our next destination. (If you choose to walk to Minninup Pool you will need to let our Adventurous Women Guide know of your intention to do so).
On re-grouping at the Visitors Centre in town at 11.00am, it's time blow up your pool toys girls.... as your adventure is about to be continued on the water! We head out Minninup Pool on the Collie River, not only an extremely significant place for our traditional custodians, but also a beautiful place to while away a couple of hours swimming, kayaking, SUPing and picnicking.
We'll meet our local adventure specialists, TraaVerse, at Minninup where they will have enough water craft for everyone to use (a selection of Kayaks & Stand up Paddle Boards). You will be provided with a safety briefing and instruction on how to use the equipment before getting out on the water. Then ... for a couple of hours, it's your time to enjoy kayaking, supping or simply floating around/swimming in this beautiful section of the Collie River.
Around 1.00pm we'll serve up a yummy picnic lunch on the banks of the river, then its time to get changed (there is a toilet block here) and pack up our gear before heading off to our next destination, Harris River Estate Winery. Harris River Estate is set amongst the beautiful forest 5 km’s North of Collie and is an ideal setting to chill out! The Estate is not only a winery, but boasts a beer and cider micro-brewery, a restaurant and accommodation. Here you'll have the opportunity to sample the beer, cider and wines, or perhaps enjoy a cuppa (own expense)
After our very relaxing time at Harris Estate, we head off to our final "mystery" destination for a bit of fun & frivolity before returning to Perth. We anticipate our arrival back in Perth to be around 6pm.
