When it comes to hiking - reward versus effort - Mount Cordeaux hands down is that Adventure!
You are blessed with uninterrupted views and an enchanting story book sunrise, but only for those devoted enough to awake early and join AW Hosts Kat and Caron on this mythical journey.
We start early to ensure we are perfectly positioned on top of Mt Cordeaux (Niamboyoo) for a 05:42 am sunrise. We will sit with a cuppa in hand and take in the beauty, the colours and sounds that are the emergence of a new day.
After sunrise we will continue a little further out to Bare Rock. This is a relatively simple meander over mostly flat terrain, … be sure to keep a look out for the giant rock lilies along this section of the walk. Once at the summit of Bare Rock you will be able to look back over your journey thus far and soak in the spectacular views of the Main Range National Park and the Scenic Rim which are the backdrop to this sunrise adventure.
We rest here and take a moment to enjoy a snack before we retrace our steps back to our vehicles.
We recommend your phones be fully charged as this walk offers up some of the most outstanding scenery and is often referred to as a photographers playground.
Toilets are located at the carpark at the start of the hike.
