Join us on a social ride on one of the most popular mountain bike tracks in Australia, "The Oaks†Trail. This trail has all the elements of a great ride and it's an awesome adventure experience.
The trail runs between Woodford and Glenbrook and comes with a 1000m vertical descent ... all in the name of fun and great views!! Approximately 80% of this trail is downhill with a steep final kick as we climb the road out of the National Park to Glenbrook Village. While there is some climbing in the first half of the ride (you can walk your bike up any of the climbs if you wish), once the helipad is reached at the halfway mark, it's one long fun downhill run. As the trail winds its way along ridge tops we make sure we stop and take in the amazing views of the lower Blue Mountains. If we have a clear day we'll be able to see all the way to the Sydney CBD.
If the trail has been recently graded, the smooth wide trail allows for a sustained thrilling high speed blast if you're a thrill seeker ...and if you're not, you'll enjoy the luxury of a cruisy smooth downhill cycle. The icing on the cake is the fantastic optional single track section towards the end, which is one of the best in Sydney.
The total length of the trail is 30kms long and takes on average 2.5 to 3.5 hours to complete. The track is easily self guided and suitable for average fitness and experience, so come along and give it a go, within a supportive environment along with like-minded women.
