Join Leonie on this beautiful hike down from Mt Lofty through Cleland Conservation Park and towards Summertown on well maintained, wide tracks and roads.
It is suitably for moderately fit walkers but please note there are definitely some steep hill sections.
This hike combines a number of well known tracks in the park to create a unique experience as we head towards the Aviation towers .
We will begin on the Waterfall Gully Track before joining the Chinaman’s Hut Track and Lodge Track before turning onto the winding Wine Shanty track which we will follow for some time before eventually hitting the Pill Box track and heading towards Ridge Rd and on to the Aviation Towers which are our lunch and turn around point.
Please note: We will be walking approximately 500m along Ridge Rd and we ask that you please wear a fluorescent vest or tie something bright your back pack for their safety.
Once we return to the Mt Lofty Summit, stay on for a chat, coffee & cake (own expense) at the Summit Café
The day may start a little cool & foggy but will warm up on the hillsides so please remember to layer your clothes so you can adjust as needed.
Parking is available in the summit carpark for $2 a day or there is a bus stop if you prefer
● A good chance of seeing koalas as well as echidnas, kangaroos and bandicoots
