Our "Mind and Movement Mini Retreat" is a taste of our Weekend Yoga in Nature Retreat, designed for those who are unable to get away for the whole weekend. The aim of the mini retreat is for you to experience gentle movement, nature therapy, meditation techniques, creative expression, company of like-minded women ...... and to soothe the body and soul, returning home at the end of the day feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Itinerary:
Self Drive to Lane Poole Reserve (we will provide details prior to the day) to meet with your facilitators, Bettina & Sue, and weekend retreat participants, then drive tag-a-long to nearby Island Pool.
On arrival at Island Poole, Bettina will guide us in mindful movement, through gentle standing Yoga and Qi Gong, the ideal way to tune into our surrounds & warm up the body, before taking part in a guided walk. As we immerse ourselves in nature, we walk with intention in a relaxed and mindful way, not to cover a lot of ground, but to walk slowly and take in the surroundings through our senses, soothed by the fragrances and sounds of nature… rejuvenating and restorative on all levels .. free from the digital world and modern day stresses… stillness in movement.
We then take time to enjoy beautiful Island Pool and the forest surrounds - it’s calming effect and natural beauty. There is time for a cleansing swim in the Murray river …it’s wild, cool, natural and therapeutic, or for those who enjoy a bushwalk and want to challenge themselves, perhaps you’ll use some of your time here to hike the nearby loop trail through scenic Jarrah forest, numerous grass trees and awesome valley views. (Class 4, 1 hour approx, some steep sections)
We then drive tag-a-long back to our nearby retreat venue, where Sue will serve lunch for the group.
After lunch, Bettina will guide you creating your own set of Mala beads, then you'll learn to meditate using the beads and your own sankalpa.
At 3.30pm feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, we bid you farewell ....... Namaste

Is the 'Mind and Movement Mini Retreat" suitable for me?
We have purposely developed this particular retreat program to fit the ‘Adventurous Women’ style of doing things. It’s a little different, in that we don’t stick to a particular philosophy or practice, our food is not vegan (happy to cater for vegetarians though) and complete silence is not our strength. We appreciate that there are plenty of excellent companies who already provide this end of the spectrum when it comes to Yoga Retreats and we’d be more than happy to recommend them, if our style doesn’t suit your needs.
Beginners Welcome, You don’t need to be flexible or fit … all bodies can do yoga!
We provide lovingly prepared homemade lunches and they are amazing! There may even be a little naughty twist at times, however you do have a choice as to whether or not you wish to indulge.
Self Drive - We will provide directions to the property.
