Lake Manchester is on Jinibara Country and one of the secondary water storage areas for Brisbane and surrounds. This hike passes through open eucalypt and ironbark forest with the opportunity to spot lots of reptiles and birdlife including red-backed wrens, red browed finches and the yellow-tailed black cockatoos and is covered by a nice amount of shade with some stunning glimpses of Lake Manchester at many locations along the way.
The circuit follows the fire and SEQ water tracks that circumnavigate the lake and features a number of hilly sections, including some that are quite steep.
Upon returning to the picnic grounds we will enjoy a well earned treat and tea/coffee.
While this not an overly difficult adventure it is challenging due to the distance and hilly terrain so a moderate to high level of fitness is required.
Please note: To attend this event you must be COVID fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination MUST be supplied BEFORE the event by emailing a screen shot or appropriate document to office@adventurouswomen.com.au
This tour by it's very nature is not designed for the 5 Star Traveller. It is for the girl who has an 'adventurous spirit' and is looking for a unique and rewarding 'experience' (Once in a Lifetime)! You should be able to adopt a "Go With The Flow" attitude, after-all we are in a foreign country and things don't always go to plan...this will help you chill out and therefore get the best out of your holiday.
You will also need to be mobile without assistance - some of the sights require you to be on your feet, navigating steps and uneven surfaces at times. We also have a couple of walks as part of this tour - these walks can be achieved by anyone with a general level of fitness, but again mobility is the key, as with all of our tours.
Notice of cancellation must be in writing, with an email as an acceptable form of communication, directly to Adventurous Women with the following conditions:
No refund is available after departure of a walk or tour has commenced.
