Today we are heading off into the Tewantin National Park, Lake Macdonald Section. We will follow the Noosa Trail # 4, heading out from the Noosa Botanical Gardens, down to the dam wall and into the forest. This trail has recently re-opened after some overdue maintenance so is perfect for us to travel along.
This is a lovely walk along bush trails, country roads and eventually to the shores of Lake Macdonald. As with most of the Noosa Trails Network we will pass by farming communities, historical land marks and meander along some country lanes, even throwing in a few undulations for good measure.
At around the 6km mark we will come alongside Lake Macdonald where we will sit & enjoy a cuppa with something from the AW Pantry. This is the best spot along this journey to take in the water views and use the bathroom facilities available.
From here we will make our way back around to the start, I encourage you to spend sometime in the Botanical Gardens. The Ampitheatre down by the lake is a perfect location to enjoy your lunch. Stroll around looking at the marvellous collection of plants in such a small and compact garden.
