Just a short 40-minute drive from the Sunshine Coast, the Gheerulla Falls walk is a moderate hike that passes through both majestic eucalypt forests and beautiful rainforest.
As you walk the scenery and sounds evolve as the terrain changes and head deeper into the forest. Listen for the sounds of honey-eaters, fantails and other wildlife along with the tinkle of water from the creeks nearby.
Join Chris on this beautiful walk via the Ubajee walkers camp to Gheerulla falls and return.
If you're interested bring along a compass (or ensure you have a compass app on your phone) and try your hand at topographic compass navigation while you walk.
After our hike we will stop to enjoy a simple light lunch and a chat
This walk is part of the Sunshine Coast Great Walk in the Mapleton National Park and is a good indication of what to expect if you ever tackle the full 58km walk.
