This is a great trail for beginners with a moderate level of fitness
Come and join Caron & Kat on another beautiful Friday morning adventure & morning tea in our own backyard.
The Federation Way is nestled in the sand dunes of Main Beach. The restoration of this area is the passion of the local community and the Main Beach Progress Association which began their journey in 1999. With funding assistance from the City of the Gold Coast a series of walking paths and community planting activities began.
Today we see a network of established paths and tracks throughout this beautiful reserve, that offer the opportunity to hike, jog, cycle, birdwatch or simply sit under the trees and listen to the birds singing accompanied by the sounds of the ocean.
We will start the Federation Walk in the carpark near the toilet block. There is a designated pathway that will lead us all the way through the Coastal Reserve to the Gold Coast Seaway from where you can take in spectacular views of the coastline. It’s an adventure that takes you back to the untouched history of the Gold Coast.
We will follow the path around to the Broadwater side of the Spit to enjoy morning tea (provided) at one of the many picnic areas with bathroom facilities before heading back to our starting point via the beach taking in the fabulous views of the coastal strip before us, including the buildings of Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Headlands and Greenmont.
