This is one of the classic walks.
After meeting at Yellowpinch car park Mt Barney National Park, we’ll follow the track to the National Park gate and continue on using fire and park access tracks through open bushland crossing several creeks along the way.The depth of these crossings will depend on recent rain in the area.
There are fabulous views of Mt Barney and Mt Lindsay on the way. There’ll be time to stop and admire the scenery and take photos. Along the way we may encounter bird life and goannas.
Reaching Cronan Creek Cascades and Falls we’ll break for a rest, snacks or early lunch, and maybe a swim in the pool, depending on the weather. There’s usually a nice chill to the water to cool off in, so bring a towel.
If time permits on our return we'll ascend Yellowpinch to fantastic views of Mt Barney North East Ridge and the Upper Portals, also views of Upper Logan River below us.
Once back to our cars we’ll have a cuppa together with a treat from the AW pantry.
Please note there are Toilet Facilities at the trail head
