MAKE A BOOKING

This is a moderate to challenging hike which will be at a pace that suits everyone attending on the day so times may vary, that said you will enjoy this hike more if you're hike fit.

This popular hike in the Adelaide Hills meanders through the cool sanctuary of Chambers Gully and includes a steep climb to the ridge, where you can enjoy gorgeous views of both the city and coast. Keep an eye out for kangaroos, cockatoos, bandicoots and koalas as you walk.

There is plenty of history to be found in the area dating back to the early-to-mid-19th century when it was popular for tourists and picnickers. In 1912 the state government designated the southern area of Waterfall Gully as South Australia's first National Pleasure Resort until 1970's when it became part of the larger Cleland Conservation Park.

Over the years the area was extensively logged, used for market gardens and nurseries and attempts were even made to mine the area.

The region was also home to one of the state's earliest water-powered mills, and a weir erected in the early 1880s to as part of the local water supply.
