Today, we make our way down to Canungra Creek, then follow along its banks to Darragumai Falls, Box Log Falls, Picnic Rock and picturesque Elabana Falls. This adventure is a photographer's paradise as we witness clear mountain water cascades from high in the forest, plunging into deep swirling pools, over rocky faces and down the rainforest valley.
Wander along the trails surrounded by stunning giant pink-barked brush box, Antarctic beech and piccabeen palms - the brush box in this World Heritage area have been radiocarbon-dated at 1,500 years, making these giants the oldest carbon-dated trees on Australia's mainland.
Consider staying on afterwards to visit the rangers office to view the collection of interesting stories and botanical information they have on display
As with any mountain adventure it is advisable to have a rain jacket or poncho, the weather takes on its own personality and can change without notice. Due to the terrain your hosts will not be carrying tea & coffee, however we will delve into the AW Pantry and have a treat for you to enjoy along the way.
