Enjoy this gorgeous walk through impressive stands of ancient smooth, pink-barked brush box that give their name to the walk.
We will begin our walk on the Border Track before branching off to join the Box Forest Circuit and making our way down into the valley and along Canungra Creek where we may be lucky enough to spot the endemic and threatened Blue Spiny Crayfish in the clear pools. The walk passes by the beautiful Tullerigumai Falls (Box Log Falls) and Picnic Rock where we may stop for morning tea, before we reach the picturesque Elabana Falls where clear mountain water cascades from high up in the forest, plunging into deep pools and over rocks before continuing down the valley.
After a short photo op stop we will continue along the circuit enjoying views of even more waterfalls such as Darragumai and Yanbacoochie Falls as we make our way back.
Lamington National Park falls within the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, famous for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history, and diversity.
This walk is approx 2hrs drive from Brisbane and 1.5hrs drive from the Gold Coast. Why not organise a carpool on our private Qld Facebook group
