After meeting at Jollys Lookout we will walk the Thylogale Track in D'Aguilar National Park through to Boombana and return.
The walk is approximately 9 kms return and is an easy and pleasant stroll, passing through beautiful rainforest into open eucalypt forest as we traverse around the mountain. Numerous birds can be heard or seen along this track including whip bird, wompoo fruit dove, Australian king parrot, and the green catbird.
The track name comes from the genus of the Pademelon, a small marsupial found locally. The name is a corruption of badimaliyan, from the Dharuk Aboriginal language of Port Jackson (Sydney region).
Keep an eye out on the track and you may see a few, especially on our detour along the Pitta Circuit. A giant 300-year-old strangler fig is another highlight on this track.
Please Note: There are toilet facilities at the start of this walk
