Well, discombobulate is just a FUN and FANCY word for confuse and that’s what we aim to do today… expand your thinking, stretch your mind, while having some FUN! The puzzle walk will stretch your legs and test your ingenuity. We will be exploring the streets of Northbridge, Perth’s multicultural area dedicated to culture, the arts, great food and nightlife. Northbridge has a quirky character in contrast with the modern city on the other side of the tracks. After colonial convicts drained the original freshwater swamps and dis-placed the Aboriginal people who used this area for hunting and rituals, it became the Chinese community’s market gardens. Over the years the Greek, Macedonians, Vietnamese and Italians have put their stamp on the area. The multicultural layers are evident in the character-filled streets of this distinctive district. We are grateful to Northbridge for bringing us authentic Asian food, street life and festivals, European alfresco dining, real espressos and lively street art.
So let’s head off for a few hours and explore what’s in our own backyard in Northbridge ... breaking into groups of 3 to 4 you'll be solving clues as we go. We will finish our puzzle walk back in Yagan Square and you are invited at the end of your little adventure, should you wish, to join your host for a celebratory drink at ‘The Shoe Bar & Cafe’ in Yagan Square. After your host say's goodbye, you may even decide to stay on for a meal!
Style of Walk: The length of this walk in total is only 4 kms around Northbridge and it's physically easy, mentally challenging ... a real puzzle!!
