This walk is part of the 56km Conondale Great Walk and follows Booloomba Creek. We will walk through ancient subtropical rainforest where there is abundant birdlife along the path as well as goannas and skinks.
We will also explore the two side tracks along this walk, the Strangler Cairn and old Gold Mine, both of which which are a must do before reaching the Cascades which are a great place to have a swim or rock hop over the creek and climb up on top of the falls. We will be stopping here to enjoy coffee and tea with a sweet treat (and a refreshing dip for those brave enough) before retracing our steps back to our vehicles.
If you have time and energy after the walk we can recommend the bakery in Kenilworth, they have the best donuts in SEQ or a visit to the Kenilworth Dairy for ice-cream, yoghurt and an amazing selection of award winning cheeses.
