This is a great walk, approximately 10 kms through mostly canopied forest that skirts around Enoggera Reservoir. There are some quite steep hills but most of the walk is easy. Glimpses of the reservoir, lots of beautiful trees and the odd encounter with wildlife make for a very enjoyable couple of hours.
Built in 1866, Enoggera Reservoir is the oldest reservoir in Brisbane. It was the third largest dam built in Australia in the 1800s and was one of three dams constructed to store water for Brisbane’s growing population from 1864 to 1916. Today it is one of the few remaining intact and functioning old dams and is heritage-listed.
You are also welcome to enjoy a cuppa and some morning tea at the Café afterwards at your own expense.
Please Note: There are toilet facilities at the start of this walk
