You asked for it and we listened. We are raisin’ the bar and are challenging you to take on the 5 PEAK CHALLENGE - still around the Glass House Mountain area and including a couple of favourites, but we have also included a sun rise to further test your sense of adventure!
#1 - Mt Ngungun awaits, as does a fabulous sunrise! What a start to the day!. This 2.5km return track has a few steps up to the top to test the legs!
#2 & #3 - Mt Couchin (East and West Peaks) aka The Couchin Twins: This is a steep uphill to the first summit and some scrambling down , then up to the second peak where, once again, we are treated to some outstanding views of the area. A punchy 2km circuit.
The Glass House Mountains Lookout - a great place to see where we have been and where we will be going is our scheduled bathroom and snack stop before we take on the last two peaks.
#4 - Wild Horse Mountain You drive past this peak on the way up the coast and think … I’ll do that one day … Well today is the day. The 1.4km return bitumen track takes us up to the fire tower - it's short and steep with amazing views.
#5 - Tibberoowuccum aka The Wookiee: This out and back 1.6km trail is quite narrow so watch your footing as you scramble upwards to the peak and the triumphant end to today's challenge. The Victory photo will be spectacular from this peak and a badge of honour for our first ever 5 PEAKS in 1 DAY Adventure.
We will celebrate with a cuppa and a treat from the AW pantry back at the Mt Tibrogargan car park.
Hike Grading is 3 - 4 with the 4 S's
Short, Sharp, Steep and Stairs so a reasonable level of hike fitness is required to enjoy the day
