We have purposely developed this particular 'yoga escape' program to fit the Adventurous Women style of doing things. It's not a retreat and it’s a little different, in that we don’t stick to a particular philosophy or yoga practice, our food is not vegan (happy to cater for vegetarians though) and complete silence is not our strength. We appreciate that there are plenty of excellent companies who already provide complete Yoga Retreats and we’d be more than happy to recommend them, if our style doesn’t suit your needs.
For those who have been on our Yoga Escapes before, we've changed things up as you will see by the itinerary - a different venue and meal style, so please understand that when booking. The cabins are rustic and are on a property that caters for other guests, so we do not have exclusive use, however the Yoga Space and cabins are all ours. The grounds and the restaurant are shared with other guests.
Beginners Welcome, You don’t need to be flexible or fit … all bodies can do yoga!
Alcohol is not provided, however you are more than welcome to bring your own if you enjoy a tipple and there's opportunity to purchase when dining at the onsite restaurant.
A Little about our Yoga Facilitator - Leah Nylander
Leah’s Yoga journey began around the year 2011, she knew something important had entered her life when Yoga became a non negotiable. Over the years Leah has tried all different modalities of health and fitness but always managed to find an excuse not to turn up if the mood arose. Leah never found the need to skip her Yoga practise, such was the strength of its pull. Leah gained her 350 Hour teaching accreditation under the guidance of Tamara Graham in the lineage of ISHTA Yoga. Leah has trained with Leslie Kaminoff, Sarah Platt Finger, Alan Finger and Jo Phee to name a few, she believes in empowering her students to work within their body’s individual needs, paying careful attention to what the body requires and not what the mind/ego wants. Skeletal variation is real and throughout her classes, Leah encourages students to listen to the individuality of their bodies so that they can practice in a safe and nourishing way. When done correctly students can practise Yoga throughout every stage of their lives; Yoga is designed to move, grow and develop as our body changes with every coming year.
Leah encourages her students to practise in line with their internal wisdom, thus avoiding going too deep too soon and opening when the body is ready. Leah’s teaching leaves her students feeling once again whole and connected (breath, mind + body). She teaches with a whole body approach so no two classes are ever the same. She loves the element of surprise with her teaching, taking students out of pre-emptive thinking and into the unknown; helping the mind and body’s ability to adapt to change.
Leah has owned West Coast Yoga in Sorrento for 5 years and leads a team of 9 Instructors. She teaches :Yin + Meditation, Hatha, Over 55s and Yang to Yin
