Start your day with a scenic Aqua Taxi ride to Torrent Bay, where your walking adventure continues. From this charming coastal settlement, you’ll follow the trail up and over to the famous Falls River swing bridge - a fun, slightly wobbly crossing that’s sure to bring a few laughs.
Next, you’ll make your way to Bark Bay, a peaceful spot to rest, refuel, and soak in the views. If you’ve chosen the shorter option for the day, this is where you’ll join the group, reducing your total walking distance to 10.4 km.
From here, the trail climbs to one of the biggest ascents of the journey, but it’s all part of the adventure. Take it slow, encourage one another, and the reward is well worth it as you descend to sea level at the picturesque Tonga Quarry. Walk along the sweeping curve of Onetahuti Beach, where you may be tempted to dip your toes in the water.
Your final stretch takes you over one last saddle before arriving at Awaroa, a secluded gem of the Abel Tasman. Here, you’ll settle in at the beautiful Awaroa Lodge, a serene retreat surrounded by nature. Relax, then in the evening join your fellow adventurers for a delicious dinner at the lodge’s restaurant, where you can share the day’s highlights and prepare for another memorable day ahead.
You have the option of shortening the walking distance to 10.4km on this long day by catching a water taxi straight to Bark Bay where you will continue your walk to Awaroa.

We take a break from walking today for our next adventure that takes you from land to sea, with a guided kayaking experience through the dynamic marine environment of Awaroa. After a pre-trip safety briefing and paddling tips from your experienced guide, you’ll launch your kayak and glide along the stunning coastline.
With tides, weather, and sea conditions in play, your guide will tailor the route to give you the best possible experience. Along the way, we will break up the journey for your guide to provide some interesting commentary at notable points of interest in this special part of the Abel Tasman. We will also stop at a secluded beach, where you’ll have time to relax, enjoy some snacks and a hot drink, and chat with your fellow paddlers.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at Awaroa Lodge. Unwind with a good book, stroll along the beach, or simply take in the peaceful surroundings. After the excitement of kayaking, it’s the perfect chance to slow down and soak up the magic of the Abel Tasman with the inspiring women in your group.
